Northrop Grumman is seeking Manager Software Development 1 to join our diverse team of professionals located in Roy, UT.

This position is an Application management role within the Program Services and Support organization of Chief Information and Digital Office (CIDO). This position will require a split between technical and functional management duties.

Essential Functions:
Lead a team of application administrators performing direct program work on Sentinel, also supporting multiple programs.
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
Use good judgement to pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work closely with program-assigned systems engineering, software development, and management professionals to ensure that the software lifecycle is accomplished with high quality and efficiency
Oversee and manage the quality and timeliness of the organization’s products, and identification and remediation of potential issues before they become problems
Develop and manage budgets and schedules and create work assignments for tasking
The successful candidate will have a current full-time Program assignment; with a subset of the time allocated to Functional Manager duties, which fluctuate throughout the year due to business needs and the performance management cycle.
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 5 years of software engineering experience OR Master's Degree in STEM with 3 years of software engineering experience
Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) access via a Program Access Request (PAR) as a condition of continued employment
Must have a Security+ or greater OR obtain with 90 days from start date
Experience leading collaboration across engineering teams
Demonstrated mastery in various competencies of Teaching, Mentoring, and Facilitation
Proven interaction in a distributed team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Secret, Top Secret, SCI, SAP/SAR access, or Polygraph
Strong background in software development, testing, and troubleshooting
Prior experience with performing software development using agile methodologies
An advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other STEM discipline
Proven leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrate exemplary professionalism and ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
Demonstrate strong team-building/collaboration skills
Demonstrated ability to build diverse/inclusive teams with engaged team members
Demonstrated mentoring and coaching skills, and excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
Previous experience leading a team of 5-12 employees
Time management and organizational skills to prioritize across concurrent program and functional responsibilities

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,900.00 - $172,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
