Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and support cloud-based solutions utilizing Microsoft Azure. This role plays a vital part in deploying scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure to meet organizational and client needs. The Azure Cloud Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud services, ensure best practices, and support the company’s digital transformation initiatives.

Software Requirements
 

Required Software Proficiency:

  • Microsoft Azure services (Azure Compute, Storage, Networking, Security, Identity) — proven experience in deployment, configuration, and management

  • Infrastructure-as-Code tools (ARM Templates, Terraform) — extensive experience automating cloud infrastructure provisioning

  • Scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, CLI) — proficiency in automation of cloud operations

  • CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) — experience in automating build, test, and deployment workflows

  • Containerization: Docker and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, AKS) — strong hands-on experience in container deployment and management

  • Source control systems: Git — advanced knowledge of versioning and branching strategies

Preferred Software Skills:

  • Cloud security tools and policies (Azure Security Center, Key Vault, Defender) — familiarity with cloud security best practices

  • Monitoring and logging solutions (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics) — practical experience implementing observability

  • Cloud migration tools and services — applicable in hybrid/cloud migration projects

Overall Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand cloud infrastructure requirements and develop scalable Azure solutions

  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud environments ensuring performance, security, and cost efficiency

  • Automate deployment and operational processes via scripting and infrastructure as code

  • Monitor system health and performance, implementing improvements as needed

  • Conduct security assessments and ensure compliance with organizational policies

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across cloud infrastructure components

  • Document architecture, configurations, and operational procedures; share insights with teams

  • Stay current with Azure advancements and industry trends to continuously improve cloud solutions

Technical Skills (By Category)

  • Programming Languages:

    • Essential: PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar scripting for automation

    • Preferred: Python or Bash for scripting and orchestration tasks

  • Databases/Data Management:

    • Experience with Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, and other cloud-native storage options

  • Cloud Technologies:

    • Essential: Deep understanding of Azure core services, security, and networking architecture

    • Preferred: Multi-cloud experience or hybrid deployment expertise

  • Frameworks and Libraries:

    • Experience using Azure DevOps, ARM templates, Terraform, and container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, AKS)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years in cloud engineering, systems administration, or related roles with a focus on Azure deployments

  • Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, and managing scalable cloud architectures

  • Proven record of automating infrastructure and operational workflows

  • Experience with cloud migration or hybrid cloud implementations is highly desirable

  • Hands-on experience in multi-cloud environments adds value

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure and services

  • Automate provisioning, deployment, and operational processes using IaC tools and scripting

  • Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to optimize cloud environments

  • Monitor resource utilization, security, and performance; investigate issues proactively

  • Implement security controls and compliance measures across cloud resources

  • Create documentation, procedures, and reports to support operations and audits

  • Keep abreast of new Azure services and industry innovations; recommend improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field

  • Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator) are preferred

  • Ongoing professional development emphasizing cloud best practices and emerging technologies
