The children’s hospitals and wish granting program led by the Disney Enterprise Social Responsibility group is The Walt Disney Company’s philanthropic initiative dedicated to delivering joy when it’s needed most to children and families around the world. The signature children’s hospitals initiative brings comfort and inspiration to children facing serious illness and their families by working with pediatric healthcare experts to reimagine the patient experience in children’s hospitals globally.

Responsibilities of the Role:

The Senior Manager, ESR Programs will support the Director, ESR Programs in implementing and sustaining the hospital initiative globally. Key responsibilities include:

  • Program Management - Manage day-to-day interaction and program execution with internal stakeholders and key nonprofit partners. Clearly and timely communicate program scope, expectations, and plans. Accountable for the execution of required agreements and processes with internal and external parties to enable timely delivery of program elements. Oversee grants including administration and measurement.
  • Team Management – Manage team responsible for operationalizing the children’s hospitals program. Translate program strategies into organized action plans to delegate workstreams with clarity. Provide guidance, coaching, and development.
  • Events – Oversee and manage program events with nonprofit partners (e.g., children’s hospitals), keeping internal and external stakeholders informed and coordinated to execute each event with success.
  • Marketing & Communications (MarComms) – Contribute to overall CSR MarComms strategy by providing program inputs and opportunities during planning cycles and through ongoing collaboration with CSR Integrated MarComms team. Align programs with synergy priorities to enable successful execution of storytelling opportunities. Plan and execute events that support social impact work and align with storytelling priorities.
  • Project Management – Lead domestic project meetings with internal and external partners, monitor and track project progress, and ensure successful project execution. Provide on-going support and guidance to international project teams.  
  • Content & Product Development – Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enable new content and product creation. Work closely with internal and external partners to source and deliver products to fulfill program promises.
  • Strategy Development Support – Support the Director in developing strategies and implementation plans for the continued development, implementation and sustainment of the children’s hospitals initiative globally.
  • Data & Reporting – Consistently and accurately track program and project expenses and progress to provide timely updates to leaders. Collect data and conduct analysis as required. Execute surveys and collect meaningful feedback from stakeholders to assess and improve program effectiveness.
  • Operations – Increase operational efficiency by identifying and championing program and process improvement opportunities. Assist in developing and managing comprehensive program documentation including SOPs and program onesheets.
  • Vendor Management - Manage vendor relationship for long term sustainment. Address performance issues, and facilitate contracts and financial transactions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Other Tasks as Assigned – Complete other responsibilities assigned by Director.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • under graduate degree in business, public health or hospital administration, social impact,  marketing or communication or equivalent years of experience
  • 7+ years in a project management, strategic operations, or consultancy role, in a large corporation, non-profit organization, or hospital.

  • 3-5 years managing a high-performing team.

  • Program and project management skills

  • Microsoft suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word, or Keynote

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills at multiple levels of an organization

  • Outstanding organizational skills

Preferred Hiring Requirements:

  • Hospital or non-profit experience desirable

  • Project management tools (Smartsheet or other) experience

  • Marketing/communications experience

The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles area, CA is $137,200 to $183,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
