The hourly pay rate for this position is $29.00 - $32.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.

Description:

Join our amazing team at Cottage Pet Hospital as the next great step in your career. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves animals and being part of a fun, supportive team. They will have experience rooming patients, assisting in surgery, placing IV catheters, drawing blood, and running bloodwork, knowledge of X-rays and dental X-rays, proper positioning, experience with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education, and being a positive and supportive team member.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of clinical veterinary experience (required) 
  • Registered Veterinary Technicians are highly encouraged to apply
  • Strong anesthesia monitoring experience
  • Experience with dental X-rays
  • Highly skilled at teaching, training, and mentoring vet tech knowledge and skills with staff
  • Experience with inventory for surgeries and back-of-the-house medications and supplies
  • Understands surgery scheduling, and helps to control each surgery's flow to stay on track
  • Full-time hours (required)
  • Saturday & Sunday shifts (required)

Qualifications 

  • Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant. 

  • Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures. 

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. 

  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred – or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements. 

  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required. 

Responsibilities 

  • Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures. 

  • Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines. 

  • Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records. 

  • Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
