How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Position: Production Supervisor (2nd Shift)
Location: Phoenix, AZ

The qualified candidate will supervise; schedule, and coordinate 1st or 2nd shift workers engaged in producing and repackaging compressed and liquid gases into cylinders to ensure adequate supply levels are maintained to meet daily customer demand.
  • All duties and responsibilities shall be performed as set forth in established policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to and assure compliance with the Code of Conduct/Handbook, policies and procedures and all applicable rules, regulations and standards promulgated by Federal, State and other applicable agencies or regulating bodies.
  • Lead, supervise, and manage plant employees engaged in operation, production, and movement of industrial and medical gases packaging.
  • Supervise associates responsible for counting and loading of cylinders on/off of company trucks.
  • Ensure all required Company paperwork is accurately completed.
  • Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed and correct unsafe acts or conditions without delay.
  • Complete plant check list and reports all deficiencies; follows up for results.
  • Assist in production recordkeeping, including data entry.
  • Team player attitude with ability to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
  • Assist in hiring, staffing, and training process.
  • Ensures adequate cylinder supply to meet customer needs.
  • Reviews production orders and schedules to obtain product data such as types, quantities, specifications of products, and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan efficient and cost effective operations that meet customers’ product needs and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures safety rules are strictly observed & safety training is regularly scheduled, conducted & documented, correct unsafe practices or conditions without delay, promote safety awareness of employees and create a mechanism in which the supervisors are actively participating and held accountable.
  • Ensures all accidents and/or injuries are reported within 24 hours and properly investigated. Comply with all Airgas safety rules and company policies.
  • Leads daily safety meetings
  • May load cylinders onto vehicles manually or with the aid of material handling equipment.
  • Operate forklift and other equipment as required to move material.
  • Transfer plant cylinders to different buildings using a forklift or hand cart.
  • Perform backup duties for other employees during vacations and other periods of personnel shortage.
  • Other duties as assigned

Are you a MATCH?

  • Must have a High School Diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2 + years of experience in industrial gas/packaged gas industry plant environment, petrochemical, or related industries in operations and/or engineering or related activities.
  • Minimum 2 years in supervisory role.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet customer needs and management expectations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and be detailed-oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple tasks.
  • Pre-employment and random drug testing applies.
  • Significant training in Safety and Compliance (OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA)
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulatory procedures (CGMP, DOT, OSHA, FDA)
  • Must have extensive coordination experience in a multi team environment.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office suite of applications – Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with SAP software desired.
