Senior Financial Accountant – (Full-Time Role)

We are seeking an energetic, experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join the finance team of Lumentum Technology UK Limited, situated at our Towcester offices in Northamptonshire. The role will be hands-on with responsibility for oversight of the company’s financial records and ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting:

  • Assisting in the month end accounting process and preparation of monthly management accounts, including periodic balance sheet reconciliations, Income statement analyses and investigation of variances.
  • Supporting the preparation of quarterly financial reporting packs.
  • Preparation of annual statutory financial statements (FRS102).
  • Supporting the Accounting Manager in the organisation and management of the annual UK statutory audit including liaising with internal and external auditors.
  • Maintaining together with the Shared Service Centre, accuracy of the Oracle statutory ledgers used for local accounts and tax returns.

Tax and Compliance:

  • Administration of VAT Reporting and compliance, including helping the Logistics dept with Importation record keeping.
  • Preparation of Corporation Tax Returns Packs and supporting the internal tax dept with quarterly tax provisions.
  • Liaising with 3rd party advisors as necessary.
  • Ensuring periodic returns are completed for all regulatory bodies, including periodic statistical declarations.

Treasury:

  • Supporting the Accounting Manager in the preparation and maintenance of cashflow reports.
  • Assisting in local treasury processes, including intragroup settlements.
  • Supporting the company’s corporate credit card programmes.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls (including Sarbanes Oxley).
    • Ensure Overseas Shared Service Centre team supporting the business is effectively managed to ensure optimum performance.
    • Overseeing junior staff, supporting, and offering guidance to non-finance staff within the business.

Requisite Skills:

  • ACCA qualified
  • Self-motivated and results oriented, a problem solver with "can-do" attitude, with strong teamwork skills and a strong desire to drive changes within a decentralized finance function, including going beyond own areas of responsibilities.
  • Hands-on system experience highly desirable including proficiency using ERP systems (preferably Oracle) and Microsoft Excel (Lookups, pivot tables and formulas).
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal), interpersonal, time management, and presentation skills.
