About you and this role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Fixed Asset Integrity Engineer (m/f) located in Terneuzen, Netherlands within the TES Technical Support Department.

In this role you will be responsible for the execution of objectives and specific technologies of the Mechanical Integrity discipline, taking into account global strategies and targets.

You play an important role in the global mechanical integrity objective of eliminating process safety containment events, improving regulatory and GMISS compliance and reducing equipment failure and business impact.  

You will be working closely together with the Terneuzen KVG Team but outside the KVG NEN-EN-ISO/IEC17020 accreditation.  

Responsibilities

  • You will prioritize requirements and objectives in coordination with business partners, applying the Continuous Improvement Process
  • You will develop action plans for the efficient implementation and application of 'Most Effective Technology' (MET), 'Best Practices' and global standards/specifications
  • You will be active in cross-functional and cross-disciplinary teams with regards to mechanical integrity topics (e.g. corrosion under insulation, Dow general mechanical integrity safety standard, equipment reliability)
  • You will coordinate inspection tasks and create critical repair procedures, perform root cause analysis and implement improvements
  • You will act as a Plant Assessment Team Leader for correct implementation of mechanical integrity and governmental requirements
  • You will drive implementation of the Fixed Asset Integrity work processes and mechanical integrity requirements
  • You will lead self-assessments, mechanical integrity audits and resulting improvement initiatives for your Area
  • You will take responsibility for correct implementation of governmental requirements (e.g. WBDA and PGS)
  • You will assess unplanned events and participate in root cause investigations with regards to fixed asset integrity
  • You will be involved in development of new inspection, NDT techniques and robotics solutions
  • You will assist with Equipment Reliability
  • You will identify and develop technology and work process enhancements which deliver value for Fixed Equipment

Qualifications

  • You have as minimum a bachelor's degree, preferably in mechanical engineering, material science or chemical engineering
  • You are fluent in both English and Dutch and have strong communication skills
