What You Will Be Doing:

As a Senior Data/Software Engineer you will take ownership of our Performance Management Tool (PMT). The PMT suite plays a critical role in the Yahoo Ads Technology stack providing services such as campaign performance monitoring and revenue protection as well as supporting troubleshooting and analysis of experiments. You will build a deep knowledge of the platform, support internal customers, and maintain the platform. PMT is widely used across DSP teams such as the business insights team, the product team, the  research and the engineering team. 

We are looking for someone that will take on the challenging task of creating a modernisation roadmap for the platform and execute the roadmap. Ideally, you will have experience in data visualization, building reporting systems, and be adept at both UI and Data engineering tools and skills.

Job​ ​Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical owner of the Performance Management Tool (PMT) suite of services

  • Define and Execute on the technical roadmap for PMT

  • Build strong relationships with customers and partners such as Business Insights and Research

  • Establish processes and documentation to enable other teams to contribute to PMT

  • Work with partner teams (product, insights, research, and engineering) to create new features on the platform

Required​ ​Skills:

  • BSc. or MSc.​ ​in​ ​Computer​ ​Science,​ ​Industrial or​ ​Electrical​ ​Engineering​, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar fields.

  • At least 5 years of experience in a data or software engineering role

  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java

  • Proficiency in UI and Web technologies (e.g. React.js, Node.js) and Data Visualization libraries such as D3.js or HighCharts

  • Be familiar with Big Data tools such as Hadoop, AWS EMR, DataBricks, PySpark, Apache Airflow

  • Experience with data modeling, data wrangling, and query optimization with tools such as RDBMS SQL, Spark SQL, Druid

  • Solid experience across all aspects of the software development life cycle from design, implementation, testing to deployment is required

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Knowledge of git and CI/CD methodologies

  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a plus

  • Experience with both green field projects and managing legacy components is a plus

  • Understanding data science concepts is a plus

  • Experience with PHP is a plus
