About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced leader in the Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) Data Management organization to lead the execution and governance of CIB’s Data Management Program.  The CIB Data Management organization provides thought leadership into line of business data strategy, supports the development of a simplified data environments to support line of business needs, and serves our internal business customers through data advisory and data management support services.  The team supports multiple business-sponsored, multi-year transformation initiatives and regulatory efforts, and provides dedicated capital markets subject matter expertise to solve enterprise data issues.

The CIB Data Services Product Owner will collaborate across CIB business units, Finance, Risk, Operations, and Technology to lead the registration of datasets and drive adoption of Core Data Services including Data Registration, Data Controls, and Data Distribution. These services support critical business initiatives and enable the simplification of data provisioning and consumption channels. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of the CIB data landscape and demonstrate leadership in transformational change, with a clear focus on implementing the Data Management Strategy and Policy.

Candidates will collaborate closely with peers and senior leadership to optimize the current operating and business engagement model for this team.  Candidates for this role will have strong project management and leadership experience, preferably in a matrixed environment. The successful candidate will have a broad and solid understanding of the CIB business, its Data Domain, and is passionate about leading transformational change. They will also be expected to understand and implement the Data Management Strategy and Policy.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as Product Owner to lead strategy, development and adoption of Core Data Services across CIB (Data Registration, Data Movement Control and Data Distribution services)

  • Partner closely with Business, Technology, Data and Control stakeholders to define requirements and deliver services that integrate with each other and will be adopted by CIB Technology and Business teams

  • Build and manage the product roadmap for Data Services by gathering and prioritizing stakeholder requirements, including those from Developers, Data Governance, Data Owners, Data Consumers, Change Leads, and Technology or Application Business Owners, to deliver strategic capabilities and support the creation of governance artifacts that ensure compliance with policy and standards.

  • Oversee the approval of data sourcing requests to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and actively drive the registration and formalization of datasets

  • Maintain a comprehensive catalog of CIB Datasets, identifying the system of record and authorized data sources to ensure consistency, traceability, and strategic alignment.

  • Collaborate and influence decision-making at all levels of professionals including senior leadership

  • Socialize and enforce adoption of the CIB Data Strategy via use of the CIB Data Services across CIB Data Owners, Tech leads and Consumers

  • Provide vision, direction, and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions

  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership

  • Provide guidance and training stakeholders on how to use the CIB Data Services and meet the CIB Data Strategy

  • Represent CIB in cross-functional groups and Enterprise Data Management teams to develop and implement effective Data Management tools

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Data Management, Business Research, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 7+ years of experience in capital markets, securities, investment banking, securities operations, financial services or similar
  • 4+ years of Product Management experience

  • 7+ years of relationship management or project experience with business and technology partners to achieve shared objectives
  • Leadership skills include the ability to work and influence successfully within a matrixed environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
  • Ability to effectively inspire and guide teams towards achieving strategic goals
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and execute competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong background in Data Governance and Data Strategy, with deep expertise in governance principles, tools, and practices, including hands-on experience implementing policies, procedures, and standards at scale.
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex information to a range of audiences and build consensus among different stakeholders
  • Ability to prepare and present senior level communications
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and client centric focus
  • Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
  • Tech background / expertise with desire to stay hands on and drive change and adoption of the data Strategy
  • Strong Control mindset
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability

Job Expectations:

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

  • This position is eligible for Visa sponsorship

  • Must be able to work on-site

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$191,000.00 - $305,000.00
