We are looking for a skilled and motivated Lead Express Mechanic to join our Maintenance Department. This role is responsible for overseeing daily shop operations, ensuring timely and high-quality maintenance on tractors and trailers, and supporting a team-oriented, safety-first environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and schedule daily workload to optimize shop productivity.
Monitor and minimize equipment downtime through effective maintenance scheduling.
Inspect tractors and trailers to identify and prioritize necessary repairs.
Accurately document repair details and input information into computer systems.
Communicate effectively with the shop team, drivers, and service providers.
Follow and enforce the company’s tire program for all equipment.
Ensure compliance with TIA, OSHA, and all company safety regulations.
Provide prompt, professional support to drivers while maintaining excellent customer service.
Lead by example—educate, motivate, and support team members in a professional manner.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and share best practices with management.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience: Minimum of one year of consistent employment or related technical schooling.
