Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer / Sr Principal Systems Engineer for the Training System Team. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

  

What You’ll Get To Do:

This position will be responsible for the development of requirements / architecture / interfaces with an emphasis on development of verification / test plans for Training System Team on the Sentinel program. This engineer will use DOORS for requirements documentation and CAMEO for Architectural decomposition, and Verification Planning. 

 

Duties will include:

  • Developing Training Segment level architecture models and requirements
  • Supporting supplier development of lower-level requirements and interfaces
  • Supporting supplier design reviews / ensuring presented designs meet requirements
  • Lead development of verification plans and training system test efforts - includes integrating with the greater Sentinel test team and working with suppliers to establish plans
  • Working on a small, high-performance team / mentoring other systems engineers
  • Provide technical teams guidance and oversight with the applicable requirements and specifications
  • Work as a point of contact for other teams to ensure applicable requirements are documented and flowed down to the responsible engineering team

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Engineer Systems level or Sr Principal Engineer Systems level.

Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree

Sr Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 Years of related experience; 6 Years with Masters; 3 Years with PhD with 2 years of Systems Engineering experience

Required for Both Levels:

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • 5+ years experience in Requirements and Verification processes

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • 4+ years DOORS experience
  • 8+ years MBSE experience
  • Test experience - including developing test plans, overseeing/executing test efforts

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $92,600.00 - $139,000.00Salary Range 2: $114,900.00 - $172,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
