Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Obtains insurance information from patients and counsels alternative ways for financial assistance.
Responsible for greeting, registering and checking in New, Return and Walk-in patients. Will also check-out and schedule appointments.
Updates and verifies patient insurance, referrals and demographic information in EPIC as needed.
Collects copays, self-pay payments and fees for services as needed.
Balances cash drawer daily.
Serves as back up for other staff during peak times, vacations and illnesses. Travel to other locations may be required.
Maintains familiarity with insurance companies and their requirements.
Adheres to HIPAA regulations and all Orthopedic/front desk policies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
