Job Description

As Consultant in the Innovation Management Department, you will acquire, participate in and lead projects that support Philips' Businesses or Functions in improving BU innovation and operational performance while realizing sustainability and circular ambitions.

Your efforts will contribute to strengthening competitive advantage, reliability delivery and sustainability business within our company. You bring expertise in one or more of our core capabilities and develop yourself over time in others supported by training and on the job learning on projects. This position offers exposure across the Philips network with the potential to contribute to multiple businesses and functions with your expertise and develop your network and new capabilities.

Your responsibilities

Conduct excellent work by being invited to be staffed on projects that take place within the Philips Businesses and/or Functions. As a Consultant, you:

  • leverage your existing network and develop and maintain senior management level relationships

  • pro-actively develop and convert new project based opportunities

  • create project proposals shaping them to the needs of the customer

  • work alone as advisor, or (leading) a team of consultants, analysts and customer team members

  • market yourself and our consulting team through networking, events, publications

  • combine these insights, trends and new competences to continuously improve our capability offering to remain attuned to evolving industry standards and customer needs

  • spot trends and maintain a good overview of developments in your capability areas

  • act as AI proficient SME within our team shaping assignments and contributing to training

Your team

The Innovation Management department is a dynamic group of approximately 70 consultants and project managers with varied expertise and backgrounds.  With a collaborative mindset, and proven approaches and tools, we provide consultative services to accelerate impactful innovation, improve operational and supply chain performance, and realize sustainability and circular ambitions for Philips businesses.

We offer you the possibility to work with internal customers across the Philips Businesses and Functions in operationalizing their strategic ambitions in the area of innovation. You will work with seasoned professionals in our team and adjacent teams across innovation engineering providing you with the opportunity to rapidly learn from their expertise and grow in specific areas of Innovation Management. 

We are looking for

  • Affinity with or background in consulting with at least 5-10 years experience

  • Proficiency in applying AI in consulting and proven track record in applying AI across multiple use cases to deliver efficiencies and bring innovative solutions

  • Expertise in innovation management for products, services or solutions covering one or more of the following capabilities:  portfolio management and governance, innovation road mapping, leveraging value over cost end-to-end, value proposition development, business modeling, business cases, change management and capability development, operations and continuous improvement, sustainability and life cycle assessments, circular product design and circular operations, project and program management.

  • Track record and experience in health care and innovation in a high-tech environment

  • Proven track record for attracting, acquiring and shaping impactful assignments

  • Experience in delivering complex projects to meet demanding targets in time and quality

  • Master’s degree in technical, science, business or related discipline, and an MBA.

  • Experience in digital and data driven innovation is a pre.

  • Willingness to travel which required for projects, up to 50% (mostly domestic).

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This role is an office based role.
