Position Summary
TRSS is a small (~350 person), dynamic, technology-heavy, security-focused environment where members of the IT team make contributions in a variety of areas. All team members perform system support and help maintain various applications. After-hours support and system maintenance are required at times. This position will primarily support infrastructure and application automation initiatives, CI/CD pipeline creation and management, and collaborating with developers, IT operations, and security.

About the Role

As a DevOps Engineer, you will also contribute to a variety of areas including:

  • Configure, deploy, harden, document, administer, and troubleshoot containerized applications and container orchestration platforms.
  • Establish, monitor, and maintain secure configuration baselines for container images
  • Administer and interface with cloud and on-premises services such as DNS, Active Directory, Certificate authorities, and load balancers
  • Configure, monitor, update, and troubleshoot on-premises and cloud-based Linux applications
  • Work well both independently and with teammates from multiple departments
  • Communicate well with users and teammates
  • Research and implement solutions to problems and document solutions
  • Perform after-hours maintenance and support as needed
  • Stay up to date on the latest best practices and security benchmarks for relevant infrastructure

About You

You’re a good fit for the role of DevOps Engineer if you have:

  • Strong Linux background
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and end-to-end container lifecycle management (image building, scanning, deploying, troubleshooting, and monitoring).
  • Experience with automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Experience troubleshooting multi-layered technical problems relating to DNS, certificates, and authentication/authorization issues
  • Experience deploying web applications in an enterprise/production environment
  • Experience with AWS and familiarity with common AWS service offerings
  • Git and CI/CD experience (such as GitHub Actions/Jenkins)
  • Able to manage tickets and create easy to follow documentation
  • Able to follow documented procedures with attention to detail
  • Able to manage time and resources to deliver on projects
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. national security clearance


Bonus Skills:

  • Strong security background including knowledge of static and dynamic application security testing
  • Knowledge of security baselines such as STIGs and CIS benchmarks
  • Application development experience (Python, Node, etc.)
