Primary Purpose:

This position will transport, escort and provide executive security for a senior executive, his family and guests in and around the New York City area.  This position will also provide deterrence on an executive level in and out of the New York Simon Office and assist in the protection and safety of all passengers.  The appropriate candidate will be responsible for maintaining the company vehicle including, but not limited to, vehicle cleanliness, general maintenance, and warranty and insurance issues.  Additionally, close contact must be maintained with the senior executive and his family’s administrative assistant regarding itineraries and logistics, travel times and location when in New York City.

Principal Responsibilities: (essential job functions)

  • Safeguard senior executive, family, and guests in the New York City area.

  • Transport senior executive, family, and guests to and from specified destinations (business meetings, appointments, personal functions, airports, etc.).

  • Safeguard and maintain sensitive and confidential information.

  • Maintain company vehicle, including, but not limited to, cleanliness, general maintenance and record of service, ensuring that warranty issues and insurance issues are managed, and reporting any issues with the vehicle in a timely fashion.

  • Watch for unusual or irregular conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.

  • Report and advise on any risks and/or incidents that may impact the senior executive, his family, or guests relating to travel safety and security.

  • Must have extreme flexibility with hours and scheduling due to 24/7 on call responsibilities.

  • Willing to schedule vacation and time off in a coordinated manner with the senior executive’s schedule.

  • Perform all the duties of a professional driver utilizing traditional best practices.

  • Must maintain a positive, friendly, and professional demeanor while executing duties.

Job Specifications:

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of physical security principles and threat/risk analysis.

  • Comprehensive and extensive geographical knowledge of New York City and the surrounding areas.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Highly technical driving skills.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills, including appropriate levels of interpersonal skills to exchange information, answer questions, interact with senior executives, and greet guests.

  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively and to identify critical issues quickly and accurately.

Education/Experience:

  • The preferred candidate will possess an extensive background in local, state, federal, or military law enforcement and must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. 

  • Licensed and qualified to carry a firearm or be able to obtain such licenses and qualifications in the state of New York.  

  • Executive Protection experience preferred.

  • Must possess a current and valid New York state Chauffeur’s/Driver’s License and a clean driving record.

  • First aid and AED certifications preferred.

Other (including physical requirements, working conditions, etc.):

  • Must be available for 24/7 response to senior executive and family’s needs. 

  • Must maintain a high level of professional appearance.

  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.

Salary/Wages

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $135,000.  Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon various factors, including an individual’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
