Collins Aerospace is looking to hire Machine Shop Technician ; reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will play a key role in producing high-quality aircraft parts by accurately interpreting engineering drawings and operating machines within a manufacturing cell.

Work Location:  Oakville Facility, Ontario – Canada

Available Shift: (Weekend Day Shift: Friday–Sunday | 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)

What You Will Do

• Perform own manual set-ups by positioning and aligning tooling per set-up instructions using CNC programming language (G codes).
• Maintain tolerances by observing operation and making necessary machine offset adjustments, cutter changes and self-inspection (OSV-Operator Self Verification).
• Document actions in support of quality logs, communicate all discrepancies in machining to supervision and create Product Defect Sheets (PDS) as required.
• Perform work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings.
• Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.
• Multi-task and operate other machines within the cell.
• Can fully achieve the responsibilities of the position within a training time of 6-8 weeks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications We Require

• Typically; High school diploma, with a minimum of 5 years of Millturn and/or Mill/Lathe machining experience.
• Experience utilizing measuring equipment in support of quality requirements
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Experience with Renishaw probe and probe cycles.
• The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP

Qualifications We Prefer

• Certificate of Qualification (C of Q)
• Verbal and written communication skills (English)
• Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner
• Experience with TMAC adaptive control

The salary range for this role is 68,555 CAD - 94,359 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
