Project Management Officer (PMO)

Role Overview

We are hiring a PMO specialist to drive process improvement, governance evolution, digital platform development, and AI adoption across Service Partner Management. You will modernise how SPM operates globally and act as the connective tissue between SPM International and SPM GCN to ensure alignment and standardisation.

SPM manages Ciena’s global partner ecosystem responsible for delivering services to our customers. We ensure partners are commercially competitive, operationally ready, and aligned with Ciena’s quality and performance expectations. Our mission is to create a best-in-class partner ecosystem that enables outstanding customer delivery.

How You Will Contribute

  • Lead the design, improvement and rollout of global SPM processes and policies.
  • Drive enhancements to the global governance model and operating rhythm.
  • Manage digital platform evolution (partner intelligence tools, dashboards, automation).
  • Identify and drive AI opportunities to streamline operations and insights.
  • Ensure alignment between SPM International and SPM GCN through structured governance.
  • Document processes, policies and frameworks with clear version control.
  • Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a catalyst for best-practice adoption across regions.

The Must Haves

  • 2–5 years’ experience in PMO, process improvement, business operations, or transformation.
  • Strong process-mapping and documentation skills.
  • Experience driving operational improvements or standardisation.
  • Ability to simplify complexity and create practical, scalable frameworks.
  • Strong digital aptitude, with interest in technology, automation and AI.

Nice to Haves

  • Exposure to governance frameworks, policy development, or audit/compliance.
  • Experience working with digital tools, workflow systems or analytics dashboards.
  • Experience developing custom tools and dashboards
