Property Tax Analyst & Compliance Support

Job Summary

The Property Tax & Compliance Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting property tax operations across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance. In addition to core tax responsibilities, this role provides project-based operational support through data-driven tasks, reporting, and process assistance aligned with business priorities.

The position is designed to flex into analytical and operational projects as needed, while maintaining a primary focus on property tax functions.

Property Tax (Core Focus)

  • Review and analyze real property tax assessments and tax bills for accuracy
  • Track assessment notices, tax bills, and payment deadlines across jurisdictions
  • Maintain accurate property tax databases, records, and internal tracking systems
  • Assist with preparation and submission of property tax appeals and supporting documentation
  • Monitor year-over-year changes in assessed values and tax liabilities
  • Research property tax laws, exemptions, and assessment practices by jurisdiction
  • Coordinate with assessors’ offices, tax collectors, consultants, and internal stakeholders
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, audits, and compliance reporting related to property taxes

Operational & Compliance Support

  • Assist with operational projects that require structured data review, analysis, and documentation
  • Support compliance-related initiatives through tracking, reporting, and follow-up on defined tasks
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to support internal reporting needs
  • Contribute to process improvement efforts by identifying trends, inefficiencies, or data gaps
  • Provide analytical support during peak periods or special initiatives as business priorities require
  • Maintain organized records and documentation to support cross-functional operational workflows

Note: Primary responsibilities related to property tax take precedence over project-based support.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data tracking, analysis, reporting)
  • Ability to manage deadline-driven work with accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to shift between structured tasks and project-based work
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar systems preferred

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma required
  • Preferred: Currently pursuing or having completed coursework in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Preferred: Experience working with data, reporting, or operational analysis
  • Preferred: Data-related certifications or training (e.g., Excel, data analytics, reporting tools)
