Job Description:

Direct and lead a team of associates who receive, identify, store and deliver a wide variety of raw material and manufactured or purchased parts for additional processing, assembly, machining, or direct shipment.

Key Responsibilities/Complexities:

  • Coordinate and manage daily and on-going stores activities; primary contact concerning stores issues.
  • Lead team of personnel who receive, identify, issue, store, or kit materials and parts.
  • Develop stores area standards and processes based on improvement opportunities or quality/cost concerns.
  • Provide support for operations in safety, quality, performance, and productivity improvement opportunities.
  • Proactively engage the assembly team leaders to eliminate trending issues and concerns affecting the customer.
  • Analyze current state processes for internal and external customer support and develop plans to address areas of need.
  • Develop and oversee relevant KPls, develop a plan of action to correct any missed opportunities.
  • Coordinate and direct projects to support improvement activities.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement by assisting with development and coaching of associates and team leaders on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Reports to varies by location; this role has direct reports and supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment:

Works in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals. Employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at the location.

Physical Demands:

Physical effort is required to handle tools/materials and perform shipping/receiving operations. The employee may be required to stand, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and greater than 50 pounds with assistance. Mental and visual attention is necessary to perform various duties requiring constant alertness and activity.

Safety:

All safety regulations must be observed. All safety hazards must be reported to your direct supervisor or safety representative.

Position Type:

 

This is a regular, full-time position with frequent overtime. Must be able, available and willing to work more than 40 hours per week to meet business needs.

Travel:

Travel is not required for this position

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Typically has 6+ years of experience in material handling, inventory control, warehouse operations
  • Typically has 1-2 years of experience in supervisory/management operations.

Other Duties:

Perform various other similar or associated duties as assigned or directed.
