Context of the role:

Thunes is renowned for cross-border payments and is rapidly expanding globally. To support this growth, we aim to extend our network to more local markets, scale and automate our platforms, and introduce innovative products that serve our customers and drive business growth. As a key driver of this expansion, you'll collaborate with highly skilled engineers and a strong cross-functional team. You'll interact with diverse nationalities and contribute decisively from the start, securing a position in our unique, young, and fast-growing FinTech company.

Based in Singapore, this role has a global impact, engaging with stakeholders across Thunes' global offices. As a Product Manager at Thunes, you'll have the autonomy and resources to manage your product end-to-end, from idea validation through the entire product development lifecycle, including market launch and feedback. You'll champion your product both internally and externally.

A passion for FinTech and experience in Treasury, Accounting, FX, cash management products, and understanding of money movement flows are essential. Your main stakeholders will be the Treasury and Finance teams in multiple Thunes offices. Other stakeholders include business development, marketing, compliance, and tech. You'll develop the product vision for Treasury, create a product roadmap, and drive its implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage global product vision and roadmap for Treasury, FX, Finance, and liquidity management at Thunes
  • Lead a cross-functional team to implement the product vision, acting as a subject matter expert and providing insights, context, and information as needed
  • Build, maintain, and prioritise the team backlog to maximise organisational value in releases
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to translate their requirements into detailed user stories
  • Continuously support the development team as a subject matter expert on customer needs, feature intent, and product domain
  • Maximise business results and customer value from developing and deploying treasury-specific products through informed trade-off decisions
  • Commercialise treasury products and expose APIs or interfaces to Thunes customers
  • Support sales and marketing efforts with demonstrations of new products and features

What you bring:

  • Strong academic background in technical engineering, business, or comparable experience
  • At least 5 years of experience and a proven track record in the financial services and/or payment industry, ideally in Treasury, FX, and/or Finance
  • Analytical skills, creativity, detail orientation, and solid problem-solving abilities with a passion for new technologies
  • Strategic thinking, understanding business impact and commercial challenges, and problem-solving to achieve solutions
  • Project management experience and proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Experience with customer advocacy, self-directed improvement efforts, AI, and ML is preferred
  • Experience in a start-up, small, or high-growth company environment is preferred
  • Familiarity with Agile/Lean product development practices and experience working with teams using Scrum or Kanban
  • Ability to develop and articulate well-thought-out business cases and their financial/bottom-line impact
  • Familiarity with APIs as both a producer and consumer, understanding what makes an API effective
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills to craft clear requirements and effectively communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences
