Senior Environment Artist

Who we are looking for: 

We are seeking a Senior Environment Artist who can effectively collaborate with the art and design teams to achieve artistic goals and implementation related to technological considerations. Create high-quality artistic content for the project with respect to technical constraints and artistic direction and provide clear feedback to external artists. Generative AI will be part of our pipelines, so AI experience and an openness to advance our pipeline through AI is a plus.

What you will be doing:

  • Responsible for creating high-quality environment art.
  • Be able to mentor and work well with others within the team.
  • Work closely with Programmers to ensure polygon counts and texture sizes are fully optimized for target platforms while minimizing any impact on the artistic integrity of assets.
  • Participate in R&D of new techniques to implement into the production pipeline.
  • Proactively seek feedback from Leads and Creative Directors.
  • Ensure that artistic style is consistent with the defined visual style for the game.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the game's design to support communication, enable early identification of issues, and help drive participation in discussions.
  • Be able to communicate clearly and provide feedback to internal and external teams.

The skills you need:

  • 5+ years professional experience in 2D and 3D art production.
  • 3+ years in game development in an Environment related art role
  • Shipped at least 2 game titles.
  • Possess knowledge of shader techniques.
  • Excellent compositional skills and all-around artistic expertise and flare.
  • Eagerness to learn new software tools and technologies.
  • Ability to work in a team setting under deadlines and time constraints.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of self-direction and motivation.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Able to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Degree in Art or Game Development related discipline(s).

Additional skills that would make you shine:

  • Understanding of Houdini and setting up Houdini Pipelines
  • Experience in Unity for Mobile
  • Passion for games of similar genres
