Job Summary:

The Content Marketing and Social Media Manager will join the Branding and Marketing Communications team in HQ office, Zurich. The function reports to the Global Head of Branding & Marketing Communications and will collaborate with the Marketing Manager and the Brand and Design Manager, as well as with gategroup’s external creative agency.

The Content Marketing and Social Media Manager will play a key role in shaping our brand’s voice and presence across multiple platforms and media. This person will be responsible for crafting compelling content, driving social media engagement, managing community interactions, and overseeing media partnerships to ensure our brand presence is strategic and impactful. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for storytelling, content creation, and B2B communication.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Content Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Together with the Head of Branding and Marketing, develop, plan, and execute the content marketing strategy to position gategroup and its brands in the industry and gain media coverage and brand awareness.

  • Identify relevant stories from across the organization and the different brands of the group that are aligned with our brand positioning and storytelling pillars to ensure control of our narrative externally.

  • Create engaging content ensuring consistency in voice and messaging, across various formats such as: news articles, press-releases, editorials, interviews, blog posts, videos, social media post, etc.

  • Collaboration with gategroup’s external creative agency and other external partners and suppliers for support with Social Media content and deliverables of specific marketing collaterals like advertising, videos and others.

  • Collaborate and engage with internal teams, subject matter experts and gategroup’s key brands: gategourmet, servair, gateretail, gatesolutions, deSter, uqonic, to extract valuable insights and translate them into compelling content.

  • Manage the editorial content calendar, ensuring timely delivery and publication of materials across appropriate channels: website, social media, trade media, etc.

  • Support the Customer Experience team and the Marketing Manager in leveraging content for customer presentations and tenders.

Trade Media Management

  • Manage relationships with key industry media partners to maximize exposure and credibility.

  • Plan and oversee the annual advertising budget, ensuring cost-effective placements and a strategic media mix.

  • Coordinate editorial submissions, interviews, and content partnerships with relevant trade publications and industry platforms.

  • Track performance of media campaigns, generating insights to optimize future collaborations.

Social Media Strategy & Community Management

  • Design and implement a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with gategroup's goals and engages target audiences across multiple platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram amongst others to explore).

  • Create, schedule, and publish social media posts that resonate with B2B audiences.

  • Actively manage community interactions, responding to comments, questions, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.

  • Monitor social media performance, generate insights, and adjust strategies to increase engagement and reach.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in content marketing, social media management, and trade media coordination, preferably in a B2B environment and global matrix organization.

  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a keen ability to adapt content to different audiences and formats.

  • Proven ability to develop and execute social media strategies that drive engagement and growth.

  • Experience managing media relationships and advertising budgets.

  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and social media management tools.

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.

Technical Skills:

  • Content Management Systems (CMS): Experience with WordPress

  • Expertise in managing Social Media platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter (X), Instagram, etc., and their algorithms.

  • Proficiency with Social Media Scheduling Tools like Hootsuite and Sprout Social to plan and schedule posts, as well as with Social Media platform analytics and third-party tools like Google Analytics to measure engagement.

  • Experience with Email Marketing Tools.

  • Design Tools: familiarity with graphic design software like Adobe Creative Suite to create visually appealing content.

  • Video Editing: basic video production and editing skills

  • In-depth knowledge in Microsoft Office, an expert in PowerPoint

Language skills:

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English

  • A good level of German language is desired.

  • Additional languages like Spanish or Portuguese are a plus.
