As the Category Manager for Organic Acids & Animal Health Products, you will be ahead of Nutreco’s procurement strategy, responsible for leading a crucial category that spans a diverse range of materials. Your leadership will be key in driving strategic initiatives, securing supply chain continuity, and optimizing procurement performance on a global scale. 

 
About The Role Category Manager for Organic Acids & Animal Health Products  
You will assess existing procurement strategies against market developments, identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency. Within your first year, you will have updated and implemented strategies that enhance Nutreco’s competitive edge, particularly in sub-categories where there is untapped potential. Your impact will be measured by the successful expansion and execution of Framework Agreements with suppliers, the optimization of procurement processes, and your ability to maintain seamless supply chain operations even in challenging circumstances. 
 

Responsibilities: 

  • Update and implement procurement strategies that reflect the latest market trends and organizational needs, particularly in high-potential sub-categories. 
  • Successfully update, expand, and execute Framework agreements with key suppliers, ensuring alignment with Nutreco’s strategic goals. 
  • Lead initiatives to streamline and enhance procurement processes, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and aligned with global best practices. 
  • Collaborate with Global Lead Buyers to implement process improvements that support Nutreco’s overall procurement performance. 

Skills and Expertise  

Qualifications:  

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 5 years in procurement or supply chain management, with a strong background in organic acids and animal health products preferred. 
  • Proven experience in leading and developing teams. 
  • Ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies and risk analyses. 
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. 
  • Willingness to travel for business (up to 20% of your time).

To be successful in this role, you are an experienced and strategic leader with a proven record of accomplishment in procurement or supply chain management. You excel in creating and executing strategies that drive business objectives and are adept at navigating complex market landscapes. You are a natural communicator and negotiator, with the ability to build and sustain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, from suppliers to senior management.
