Avon Hospital’s Stepdown Unit specializes in the care of patients with major medical and surgical diagnoses. Caregivers in this unit provide the highest quality, and safest, care possible through teamwork and collaboration. By taking this opportunity, you will join a multi-disciplinary team that has open communication, intentional collaboration, and a friendly work environment.
A caregiver in this position works a day/night rotation of 7:00am – 7:30pm or 7:00pm – 7:30am.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
One year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
