Education and Experience Required:
Licensed as RN for one (1) year or more
Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required:

Nursing experience in infusion and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Role autonomy and independence, patient care and relationships, teamwork, patient teaching, innovative thinking and technical mastery. Independence and flexibility. Knowledge and understanding of computer systems, tools and programs.
Responsibilities
Provides and oversees direct patient care in accordance with established nursing protocols, including vital signs up to every 15 minutes and physician orders.
Monitors and maintains patient care associated equipment (e.g. IV pumps, centrifuge, vital signs machine and glucometer)
Insertion and monitoring of peripheral IV catheters, accessing and maintenance of chemports, appropriate use of PICC lines, central line dressing changes and lab collection from both peripheral sticks or central lines.
Assesses and documents an evaluation of each patient’s physical, social and emotional status as a part of the outpatient admissions process to the infusion center protocols.
Responsible for nursing assessments, clinical notes and billing responsibilities.
Patient education regarding the infusion process, medications, possible side effects, follow-ups and discharge instructions
Daily chart reviews to check for new, incomplete or unsigned orders, results of labs and/or vaccinations required for certain medications and the appropriate follow-ups scheduled.
Collaborates with providers from various departments when providing patient care.
Maintains an effective channel of communication with health care teams and informs of any unusual occurrences.
Responsible for inventory management and TJC compliance duties.

Requires constant exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional travelling to offsite locations, frequent activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, constant work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, frequent bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, frequent crouching/stooping, occasional driving, frequent kneeling, frequent pushing/pulling, constant reaching, constant sitting, constant standing, constant twisting, and constant walking. (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more)
