Airgas is hiring for a REMOTE Senior Project Manager!

  • Location: Remote Role. Houston, TX, Radnor, PA, Cleveland, OH or Draper, UT preferred.

  • Travel: Up to 50% expected; however travel could increase due to project needs.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Job Description Summary: The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing Airgas investment projects. Once the project has been taken over from the development phase she / he will be acting - on behalf of the affiliate - as "Owner Project Manager".  When the delivery phase is being finalized the Owner Project Manager will hand over to the Subsidiary operation manager.  The mission of the Senior Project Manager starts during the development phase by supporting the Business Developer to develop and propose a competitive solution and by planning an appropriate project strategy including: execution plan, risk register, cost estimate, and technical integrity.  Success is measured by safety performance, predictable project cost, schedule compliance, and quality assurance of facilities and processes.

  • Achieve high safety performance by applying all safety rules within the project.

  • Perform safety reviews. Define and implement any required safety action plan.

  • Ensure IMS compliance of the project throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Prepare and conduct the capitalization review and share feedback within the organization.

  • Support the Business Developer to develop the most competitive economical & technical solution compliant to the specification and valid rules.

  • Gather and validate all local information and requirements to be considered for the full integration.

  • Establish the overall project execution strategy considering the risks evaluation and mitigation. 

  • Prepare the key project  deliverables  such as technical solution, scope, budget, schedule, risks and staffing plan.

  • Ensure the technical integrity of the proposal and consistency between the commercial & contractual offer and the project definition. 

  • Participate in negotiation and support the business developer to deliver a competitive offer. 

  • Ensure the compliance of the project to Airgas rules and systems and to the relevant external rules and regulation.

  • Manage the Project Execution with excellence and achieve the project KPI's, as defined during the Handover (Technical Performances, Capex, schedule, Risks,...).

  • Contract, manage and challenge external/internal suppliers and contractors.

  • Coordinate all  project stakeholders to ensure the quality and integrity to transfer to Operations.

  • Achieve Excellence in Construction & Commissioning.

  • Staff skilled resources to ensure excellence in execution.

  • Manage changes and support negotiation(s) with Gas Customer(s).

  • Manage risks and mitigation plans.

  • Manage the project as per the CI project management system and report regularly on the project status.

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering/related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

  • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible industry experience in Project Management

  • Familiar with the range of industrial gases related technologies (compression, refrigeration, purification, instrumentation, electrical, controls etc) in use by major industrial gas suppliers at the ASUs, Large On-Site, H2/He Filling Facilities and LCO2/Dry Ice Plants)

  • Experience managing capital projects ($1MM > $40MM)

  • Knowledge of building codes, consensus engineering standards and applicable regulations (ASME, API, CGA, NFPA, OSHA).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
