Google Cloud Architect 

Job Description 

About the Role 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud architect with extensive knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions that meet the needs of our organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of cloud-based services and applications with a significant focus on security. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design and Architecture: Develop and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures on GCP. 
  • Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard cloud infrastructure. 
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Deploy, manage, and monitor cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance. 
  • Automation: Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar. 
  • Security: Ensure the security of cloud infrastructure by implementing best practices, including identity and access management, network security, and data protection. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to design and implement cloud solutions that align with business objectives. 
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and services. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with the latest cloud technologies and trends and recommend improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of cloud solutions. 
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure, processes, and procedures. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security best practices are followed. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in cloud engineering, with a strong focus on GCP. 
  • Extensive experience with GCP services, including but not limited to Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, and Kubernetes Engine. 
  • Proficient in automation and configuration management using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar. 
  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and experience implementing them in a production environment. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. 
  • GCP certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. 
  • Experience with Wiz cloud monitoring 
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. 
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and technologies related to cloud infrastructure.
