NetScaler Platform is responsible for bringing up the Application Delivery Controller on a variety of platforms and form factors. We work across the stack from NIC drivers to applications that interface with public cloud

You are a Senior Engineer that is comfortable working with networking and virtualisation. You enjoy designing, developing, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging complex software applications and can deliver across all phases of the SDLC. Position overview:

This position, which is within the NetScaler Platform Team, will focus on the development and automation of platform features for NetScaler product line for and will present you with a unique opportunity to expand problem-solving situations that will become a valuable career asset. Primary Duties / Responsibilities

  • Hands-on experience in feature design, development and automating tests for large complex products in the area of networking & security

  • Designs, develops, and executes reusable and maintainable code, automated test frameworks, plans and executes functional testing of products across all platforms to validate various features.

  • Applies expertise related to estimating, designing, developing networking products with Linux, FreeBSD and any UNIX based OS platforms, writes effective functional, design specifications, test plans, test cases for one or more medium to large functional areas.

  • Understands the department's objectives and works diligently towards those goals; pursues goals beyond what is typically expected or expressed; is results-oriented, with a strong drive to accomplish objectives and meet high standards; strives to improve own performance and to have a significant impact on organisation’s success.

  • Participates in design activity with other members on the team for technical aspects relating to functional specifications, threat modelling, design parameters, feature enhancements, alternative solutions and automated testing

  • Establishes and maintains thorough and accurate documentation of all work including status updates to summarise project highlights and present to the stakeholders.

  • May serve in a part-time technical lead capacity to a limited number of junior engineers, providing immediate direction and guidance.

  • Keeps technically abreast of trends and advancements within area of specialisation, incorporating these improvements where applicable.

  • Ability to work in teams spread across different countries.   

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

  • Hands-on experience with large complex products in the area of network programming, network drivers & security with Linux, FreeBSD or any UNIX variant

  • Excellent C/C++ programming skills

  • Expertise in data structures and algorithms

  • Good analytical, problem-solving and debugging skills.

  • Solid system-level knowledge of Linux/Unix Operating Systems including installation, configuration, OS internals, user and kernel space applications, IPC mechanisms, sockets, daemons and services

  • Experience in analysing and debugging with gdb, analysing core files, network logs, and stack traces

  • Good knowledge of clustering and high availability is preferred

  • Strong in TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, Load balancing, Ethernet networking, Routing, Switching and VLANs

  • Experienced in use of traffic generators (Spirent/IXIA), configuring network devices and testing networking applications.

  • Experience with Agile development methodology (preferably scrum),CICD pipeline and SDLC tools like Jenkins, GIT, JIRA, Coverity etc.

  • Good to have experience in one ore more scripting language like Perl, Python and automating tests.

  • Help maintain code quality, organisation, and automatisation

  • Knowledge of Hypervisors (Xen, KVM, ESXi) is preferred

  • Knowledge of public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) is preferred

Requirements (Education, Certification, Training, Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field is preferred.

  • Bachelor with a minimum 6 years of directly related work experience.

  • Master with minimum 5 years of work experience is required.

  • Fluent English skills, including writing and speaking.

  • CCNA/CCA or above certification is a plus. 

  • SAFe is a plus.
