Senior Conference Producer - Reuters Events

Reuters Events is looking for a commercially-driven and strategically-minded Senior Conference Producer to join our Energy portfolio and deliver large-scale international events.

 

Our energy portfolio content spans hydrogen, renewables, oil & gas (upstream and downstream), energy transition and nuclear sectors. It’s grown considerably as a portfolio in recent years, as it continuously expands and adapts to reflect real-time changes in investment, policy and energy producer priorities.

 

Our events attract CEOs and executives from major energy companies such as from BP, Dominion Energy, PSEG, Southern Company and Albemarle, and sponsorship from top vendors and consultancies including Baker Hughes, SLB, EY, Deloitte, Chevron and many more. Reuters Editorial are engaged in many onstage discussions, with breaking news being a regular occurrence across our flagship events.

About the Role

 

As a Senior Conference Producer, you will:

  • Lead on the commercial success of major industry conferences in the energy sector, including hitting quality, timelines,  revenue and attendance targets and setting sales and marketing strategy for the entire project.

  • You will be researching Energy markets, getting to grips with key business issues, developing conference agendas, and conducting high profile marketing campaigns.

  • Use your commercial acumen and strategic mindset to contribute to future strategy and business planning.

  • You will likely be asked to mentor other Conference Producers including deadline management, monitoring event performance, planning (strategic, financial and operational) and providing guidance and coaching.

  • You will oversee quality control on products, marketing and client relations.

  • You will be involved in central projects that are core to driving the business forward.

 

About You

 

To be our Senior Conference Producer, you will most likely:

  • Have demonstrable experience of working at a commercial B2B conference company, ideally in a Producer role.

  • Have a keen interest in the energy sector, with an understanding of energy transition initiatives.

  • Have a track record of commercial and sales success, excellent project and time management skills, and the ability to work in changing circumstances.

  • Have managed entire projects at scale and/or grown commercial events/products from scratch.

  • Be commercially driven first and foremost – you should understand the commercial drivers behind our customers decisions, as our job is to help them make smarter ones!

  • Be someone with the ability to identify new and interesting business trends coupled with the drive to develop great events that senior business people can’t afford to miss.

  • Communication and research and analytical skills are essential, along with an entrepreneurial flair and a target-driven mindset.
