DESCRIPTION:

Services Solution Line, Central Team, Spare Parts & Obsolescence Specialist. As GSI Global spare part & obsolescence specialist you will support GSI Service Spare part leader in the Service Growth and supporting the Regions for any Service-related topic about for in and post warranty HVDC & FACTS projects for the following topics:

  • obsolescence management
  • spare parts management
  • inventory Management

You will transform lifecycle risks into structured service opportunities, strengthen inventory performance and strategic stock positioning.

This role aims to enable regions with clear governance, tools, and KPIs while increasing visibility, transparency, and control over our global installed base

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translate global strategies into practical and executable regional action plans
  • Align regional priorities with global standards and service growth objectives
  • Provide structured reporting and dashboards to support leadership decisions
  • Ensure transparency on risks, priorities, and performance

Obsolescence Management

  • Proactively identify and prioritize obsolescence risks at component, subsystem, and product level with support of the product care team
  • Define and review mitigation strategies (Last Time Buy, redesign, alternative sourcing, repair solutions)
  • Monitor and drive Last Time Buy campaigns globally
  • Promote lifecycle tools such as product databases, mapping per project, and technology trackers
  • Maintain RAM and warranty clauses within Salesforce Install Base

Spare Parts Management

  • Support regions in expanding service revenue through structured spare parts strategies
  • Identify service campaign opportunities across the global installed base
  • Drive harmonization and standardization of spare parts across projects and platforms (price list…)
  • Contribute to pricing strategies and commercial offerings
  • Support technical offering preparation including documentation and drawings

Inventory & Strategic Stock Management

  • Define and implement a global Strategic Stock approach through SAP Plant Material Management Module
  • Establish safety and rolling stock methodologies
  • Monitor inventory KPIs
  • Optimize stock levels while securing customer commitments

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in spare parts or obsolescence
  • Acts proactively, not reactively, on obsolescence and spare parts risks
  • Operates confidently across technical, commercial, and organizational interfaces
  • Provides clear structure and guidance to regional and local teams
  • Supports management with transparent decision inputs and recommendations
  • Experience in service, lifecycle management, or asset support for complex industrial systems
  • Basic Knowledge of HVDC and/or FACTS technologies and/or Energy infrastructure
  • Proven experience in spare parts strategy, obsolescence management, or product lifecycle management
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination skills
  • Forward-thinking and problem solver
  • Experience with SAP (Material Management module) and data reporting tools
  • Great and fluent communication skills

  • Able to influence and gain commitment at all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Engineering degree in Power electronics
  • Experience in the utility market, particularly with FACTS and HVDC systems and associated equipment, is a plus
  • Previous experience in related service business
  • Able to travel by car (have a valid driver’s license and ability to maintain) and/or air          
  • Stress tolerance related to many deadlines to be respected
