Position Summary:

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement innovative digital solutions and systems. In this role, you will leverage your advanced technical expertise to architect and code software applications, conduct system testing and debugging, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Your contributions will help shape the overall technical direction and drive innovation in our digital engineering projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in software engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience with one or more of the following technologies: Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with cloud-based solutions.
  • Familiarity with emerging AI technologies and their applications in software development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and teamwork abilities.
  • Proven execution and delivery skills, including planning, delivering, and supporting projects.
  • Experience with microservices and serverless architectures.
  • Familiarity with open-source frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.

Skills & Experience We're Excited About:

  • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and deploying microservices-based applications, ensuring they are scalable and maintainable.
  • Strong expertise in building server-side applications using Node.js and TypeScript, with a solid understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture.
  • Proficiency in testing frameworks and methodologies, ensuring code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews.
  • Hands-on experience with various relational and non-relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, Redis, OpenSearch, and MongoDB along with a strong understanding of data modeling and query optimization.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with event-driven services and architectures, including the use of message brokers and event streaming platforms.

It Would Be Great If You Also Have:

  • Familiarity with Agile development practices, including Scrum and Kanban, with a track record of participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • A proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment and contributing to team success.
  • Experience with the Express framework for building RESTful APIs, including middleware implementation and routing.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their services, particularly in relation to deploying and managing microservices, especially on AWS.

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $185,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
