MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Relevant experience in: Software development, SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering, aligned with the seniority level of the role
Proficiency in automation testing tools for both web (i.e. Playwright, TestCafe, Nightwatch, Cypress) and mobile (i.e. XCode, XCUITest, Swift/Kotlin, Espresso, Android Studio)
Experience with AWS infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch) and automation frameworks (i.e. Nightwatch JS, NodeJS, Java/JavaScript ES5/ES6)
Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools (Jenkins), REST web services (XML/JSON), and incident management
Exposure to Linux, containers (Docker), Kubernetes objects (pods, services, deployments), and scripting languages (Python, Bash)
Understanding of Agile methodologies and modern development practices
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and mentor others
Proactive in identifying and reporting service improvements
Experience in technical documentation, including solution design documents, code review checklists, and control room management guides
NICE TO HAVE:
Experience with AI/ML platforms (e.g., Databricks, Azure AI Foundry), language models/tools (LangChain, Langraph, MLFlow, DBRX instruct, Llama, Cohere, GPT-4o)
Hands-on expertise in AIOps/Agentic AI, RPA platforms, and open source automation solutions for both web and mobile
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
Design and deliver scalable, automation-driven solutions to streamline business processes and enhance operational efficiency
Lead solution design and execute development projects end-to-end with minimal supervision, aligning with Nike’s architectural standards
Collaborate with architects, product owners, and engineers to build secure, performant, and maintainable systems
Mentor less experienced teammates and share best practices across the organization
Build and govern Nike’s automation ecosystem, defining engineering best practices and translating business needs into technical solutions
Perform code reviews, technical discussions, and drive knowledge sharing through learning sessions and retrospectives
Take ownership of features and solutions, managing delivery across multiple sprint cycles
Contribute to innovation via brainstorming and crowdsourcing new ideas
Operate and automate services on Nike-Managed Kubernetes (K8s), including cluster operations, runtime configuration, autoscaling, and safe deployments
Ship software safely using CI/CD pipelines integrated with change management controls
Respond to incidents, participate in on-call rotations, execute runbooks, and ensure follow-ups are completed
Collaborate with platform owners for CDN and edge services, including cache behavior, WAF/bot mitigations, and routing
Measure and improve reliability using SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, and automation based on post-incident learnings
