Job Title: Mental Health Clinician  

YAI has an opening for a full-time mental health clinician within our Article 16 Clinic in New York, NY or at one of the other clinic locations.  The position at YAI provides the opportunity to gain exposure and experience working within the Center for Specialty Therapy and Premier HealthCare Article 16 clinics.  This includes providing Mental Health services in the Article 16 clinics. 

 Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities 

  • Conducts psychological assessments with children, adolescents, and adults  
  • Completes written evaluations contemporaneously using Electronic Health Records  
  • Participates in scheduled supervision  
  • Meets monthly productivity expectations  
  • Works a forty-hour work week  
  • Checks emails daily and responds to them in a timely manner  
  • Completes annual mandated OPWDD trainings, as required by the agency  
  • Participates as a member of the wider clinic multidisciplinary team (medical doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, etc.)  
  • Performs all other duties, as assigned   

Minimum Qualification Requirements including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities (e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.) 

Minimum requirements of specific positions may vary by assigned function and/or contract. Please refer to applicable regulations/contracts for all position requirements. 

All Mental Health Clinicians must meet the following minimum requirements: 

  • Qualified licensed professional (LMHC, LCSW, LMSW, Licensed Psychologist) working under the direction of licensed clinical supervisors  
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and for written clinical notes/reports  
  • Eagerness to learn and responsive to supervision  
  • Positive attitude and strong desire to help individuals diagnosed with intellectual/developmental disabilities 

Preferred Qualification Requirements (desired requirements beyond MQRs above)     

  • Experience working with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities a plus  
  • Coursework or on the job training in clinical and psychological assessment  
  • Experience with the following test instruments a plus, but training will be provided 
  • ​  Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scales – 5th Edition  
  • Wechsler Scales   
  • Comprehensive Test of Nonverbal Intelligence – 2nd Edition
  •   Leiter International Performance Scale – 3rd Edition  
  • Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development – 4th Edition
  • Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales – 3rd Edition  
  • Proficient writing skills  
  • Organization and time management skills   
  • Proficiency in a second language a plus  
  • ADOS-2 Certification a plus   
  • Willingness to take initiative
  • Interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Flexible personality type
  • Exposure to Electronic Health Records

Compensation: 

  • $60,000.00 annually; plus, bonus incentives
