Position Overview

Vantage is seeking a detail-oriented, initiative-driven Tax Junior to join our fast-growing EMEA Tax team. Reporting directly to the Tax Assistant Manager, this entry-level role is designed for a motivated individual looking to build a foundation in Tax within a global, high-tech industry.

As part of our commitment to your professional growth, Vantage will support you through the ATT (Association of Taxation Technicians) and CTA (Chartered Tax Adviser) pathway, providing the training and examination support required to become a fully qualified tax professional. You will work in a supportive environment, learning the fundamentals of international tax while assisting with key regional projects.

Essential Job Functions

• Team Support: Provide day-to-day administrative and analytical support to the Tax Assistant Manager, Tax Senior, and Indirect Tax Manager.
• Project Assistance: Assist the wider team with ad hoc projects, including jurisdictional research, data gathering and data analysis for various tax projects.
• Compliance Monitoring: Support the team and our tax tracking software to monitor and ensure tax obligations are met on time.
• Data & Process Support: Support the maintenance of a digital document repository, ensuring all tax filings and correspondence are filed logically and are easily retrievable.

Responsibilities

• Compliance Cycle: Initially observe and support the preparation of Corporate Income Tax and VAT returns, progressing to the hands-on preparation of specific schedules and return elements as your technical knowledge develops.
• Tax Research & Analysis: Conduct guided research into local tax rules or new territory requirements, evolving into the production of summary briefings to assist project scoping and strategy.
• Data Management: Take ownership of pulling reports and transaction listings from financial systems, learning to analyse and reconcile this data to support VAT and direct tax filings.
• Deadline Governance: Monitor the regional tax compliance calendar, proactively alerting the team to upcoming filing and payment dates to ensure 100% statutory compliance.
• Document & Authority Liaison: Support the team in organizing and requesting tax residency certificates and notices from tax authorities, acting as a point of contact for routine administrative correspondence.
• Process Improvement: Work with the team to document tax processes as you learn them, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and drive a "best-in-class" governance-led tax function.
• Ad-hoc Technical Support: Assist with the fulfilment of routine compliance tasks and special projects, taking on increasing responsibility for specific workstreams under the guidance of Tax team colleagues.

Education & Experience

• University Graduate (Preferred): A 2:1 degree or higher in any discipline.
• College Leaver: We also welcome applications from high-achieving A Level (or equivalent) leavers who can demonstrate strong academic performance and a clear commitment to building a professional career in tax.
• Experience: No prior technical tax or accounting background is required. We are looking for potential and attitude, not existing expertise.
• Soft Skills & Attributes
• Detail-Oriented: You have a "detective" mindset and naturally notice when numbers or documents don't align.
• Growth Mindset: You are a quick learner who is eager to take on the challenge of professional exams (ATT/CTA) and are curious about tax.
• Organised: You keep things orderly and handle several tasks while meeting deadlines.
• Collaborative: A "no task is too small" approach to supporting a busy, professional team.

Technical Skills

• Microsoft Office: Proficiency in Excel (basic formulas and data entry) is essential, along with Outlook and Word.
