This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers (use as appropriate), you will develop an integrated manufacturing system leveraging innovative manufacturing processes to design and manufacture advanced space propulsion systems. Partnering with manufacturing and facilities, you’ll own the process to capture the manufacturing and facility needs, leverages Lean techniques, and creates significant information for high-efficiency invention, evolution, and stable execution of advanced manufacturing processes. Collaborating with facility automation engineers, process engineers, design and analysis engineers, machine and process operators, enterprise tool developers, and equipment and material vendors, you’ll identify requirements and opportunities for data, tools, equipment, and workflow automation. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage manufacturing-related projects.
  • Achieve get-to-rate, cycle time and lead time reduction targets for the assigned work centers.
  • Production Support- Production Scheduling, Theory of Constraints, Budgets and Forecasts, Crew Empowerment, Defect Analysis and Benchmarking Analysis, Resource Allocation, Scenario Planning, Discrete Event Simulation, Make/Buy Evaluations, and Cost/Price Evaluations.
  • Process Improvement- Lean Manufacturing, Engineering Economic Analysis, Process Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Methods, Six Sigma, Time Studies, Waste Reduction, and Work Sampling.
  • Operations improvement- Ergonomic and Human Factors, Operations Plans, Recovery planning, Capacity planning, Capital planning.
  • Integrated Systems- Value Stream Analysis, Facility Layouts, Production Systems Design, Manufacturing Process Design, Systems Thinking, Facilities Planning, and Requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Industrial Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience working directly with manufacturing in a production environment.
  • Experience in assembly manufacturing environments
  • 2+ years of factory flow and process modeling and simulations experience
  • 2+ years of experience leading continuous improvement and value stream mapping events
  • Strong analytic skills and a high degree of proficiency in data mining
  • Exceptional with Excel, manual data analysis and other data mining tools (Python, R, SQL)
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-Starter
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Operations Management, Construction Management, MSE and/or MBA
  • Project Management Certification (PMP)
  • Six Sigma Certification
  • Experience transitioning development to production.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing and/or facilities planning.
  • Human rated space flight production experience
  • Strong teaming skills
  • Experience with manufacturing organizations and/or supply chain
  • Hands-on experience with materials and manufacturing processes


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $83,070.00-$116,298.00

Other site ranges may differ
