Your Role at Baxter

As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll drive business innovation by bridging business requirements with data. Your expertise in statistics, creativity, and tech-savviness will help unlock data's potential and build new visions. You'll collect, analyze, and interpret data to improve patient care and business efficiency.

What You'll Be Doing

• Identify and integrate datasets for product and process lifecycles.
• Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to develop data products.
• Conduct analytical experiments to solve problems across processes.
• Develop predictive models and machine-learning algorithms.
• Test and analyze data models for efficiency.
• Interpret data trends and patterns for actionable insights.
• Present findings with clear visuals and concise reports.
• Improve data collection procedures for analytic systems.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Data Science, statistics, or a related field.
• 8 years of experience as a Data Scientist or similar IT role.
• Mentorship skills for other data scientists.
• Preferred: 5+ years in Pharma/Medical Device Industry or regulatory environment.
• Advanced coursework in machine learning and programming.
• Hands-on experience with data science tools.

Technical Proficiencies

• Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Statistics: Strong foundation in descriptive, inferential statistics, and regression analysis.
• Machine Learning: Development of algorithms for supervised and unsupervised learning.
• Data Wrangling: Cleaning and transforming data using SQL; familiarity with databases like Microsoft SQL, Oracle, Snowflake.
• Data Visualization: Tools like Tableau, Power BI, Excel, and Python libraries (Matplotlib, Seaborn, ggplot2).
• Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with Hadoop and Apache Spark.
• Cloud Services: Experience with AWS, Azure.
• Natural Language Processing: Text processing using techniques and Python libraries (NLTK, spaCy, Hugging Face Transformer).

Nice to Have

• Experience working with medical devices.
