This Compliance Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Head of Compliance in the implementation and monitoring of the compliance programme. The incumbent will work closely with the team members of the compliance department and provide a full range of support, including, but not limited to, preparation/revision of correspondence, preparing compliance reports to governance forums, monitoring compliance key performance indicators, managing the annual compliance calendar, calendar management, processing of invoices, managing the compliance budget.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to :

  • Keep track of compliance spending in terms of budget.

  • Process expenses on behalf of the Head of compliance and the rest of the team from time to time.

  • Assist the Head of Compliance with drafting the departmental budget.

  • Be the main interface between the business and compliance

  • Manage the compliance mailbox and allocate appropriate tasks to the relevant compliance officers.

  • Answer compliance queries that the business may have on compliance policies and procedures.

  • Draft internal compliance manuals and procedures

  • Responsible for arranging and compiling governance forums and reports. Take minutes of meetings, follow up where there are matters arising. Apply their mind to the content and scrutinise for accuracy and completeness.

  • Monitor compliance SLA’s and deadlines and report on the department key performance indicators.

  • Perform research for Compliance Officers, assist with completing KYC’s upon request, Assist with completing TPDD’s upon request.

  • Take ownership in the planning and execution of all compliance culture initiatives

  • Engage with Executives and Senior management

  • Engage with Regional and/or Group Compliance

  • Engage with all business units

Professional Qualification, Certifications & Experience :

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • LLB Degree (advantageous)

  • Trained as a paralegal (advantageous)

  • Good skills in excel, word and power point.

  • Minimum 5+ years with compliance administrative experience

Experience and skillset required:

  • Extensive calendar and diary management.

  • Engaged in the work of the compliance officers by demonstrating knowledge and status of current matters and projects, utilizing available resources.

  • Provide support to the head of Compliance and other compliance officers

  • Act as liaison between internal departments and outside agencies and attorneys.

  • Assist with the formulating and monitoring of the compliance budget and oversee accounts and effect payments. The candidate must have a very good understanding of excel word and power point.

  • Handle a wide variety of complex and confidential time-sensitive matters.

  • Book and organize local and international travel arrangements including flights, hotels, transportation, make changes to reservations as needed.

  • Project management.

  • Proof reading and editing of documents.

  • Minute taking.

  • Upload data to the compliance intranet and Teams sites.

  • Assist and administer matters related to compliance system

  • Have strong project management skills;

  • Have accurate and fast typing skills,

  • Be organized and able to multi-task;

  • Be detail-oriented;

  • Team player
