Position Summary:

Supervises the daily manufacturing operations performed in a shift or production line, ensuring volume, quality, safety and cost goals are met. Provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports. Coordinates and directs daily the activities of the production department to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality.  Ensures all safety procedures are followed and metrics met. Investigates, trouble-shoots and provides solutions to production problems. Provides direct supervision and training for production workers. Aids in planning, prioritizing, and managing production line maintenance or downtimes to minimize disruptions to manufacturing schedules. Inspects product to verify production specifications are met.

Major Responsibilities an Authorities:

• Assign personal to the corresponding activities as required by the company making sure the people are properly certified for the assigned operation
• Make sure the personal wears the PPE and follow the safety rules as well the operation instructions for the assigned equipment
• Keep the assigned personal informed of the daily production goals/schedule
• Measure the hourly progress and take corrective actions if needed to meet the goal
• Audit the operators follow the quality plan properly
• Report the daily progress of the assigned production areas and take actions for recovery where needed
• Follow the “RIT” properly and use it as base line when addressing the people in fault to any process or procedure
• Promote the “Fair” treatment to all his subordinates
• Manage the payroll process making sure the time records for the people are accurate and OT properly authorized.
• Regarding the Job Description, it looks good. I would just add: Conducting daily start-of-shift meetings with team members and with the support team.

 Required Education / Experience / Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial / mechanical engineering. (Finished)
• More than 3 years of experience operating CNC equipment (multi-axis milling machines, multi-axis lathes, Machining center, engineering, manufacturing, production).
• 2+ years as supervisor (Mat'ls, Mfg Eng, Quality, Production).
• Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma acquired within 3 years.
