| WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

This role provides the opportunity to gain practical experience in a collaborative, engineering-focused environment while supporting activities critical to vehicle safety development and validation.

The selected candidate will work closely with experienced team members and be guided through a range of activities (time allowing) designed to build an understanding of applying foundational engineering principles in the vehicle design and development process: this may participation in physical tests determining performance of parts, sub-systems and/or full vehicles.

| WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Assisting in the development of vehicle safety test requests.
  • Supporting physical test asset preparations.
  • Assisting in the logistics or shipment and coordination of vehicle and component to test sites.
  • Observing and contributing to test activities with potential travel to external crash test facilities
  • Assisting in post-test data collection, teardowns as part of documentation of test setups to test procedures. Under supervision analysis of results
  • Under guidance of experienced engineers, collaborate, as needed, with cross-functional teams.
  • As part of this internship, the candidate will complete an individual project aligned with team objectives. This project will culminate in a formal presentation to the Vehicle Safety team and relevant leadership at completion of the internship.
  • This position is intended for a candidate who is interested in applied sciences, curious, proactive, and interested in developing a foundational understanding of applied sciences and interested in road and vehicle safety.

| WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Enrollment in an undergraduate engineering program (e.g., Mechanical, Automotive, Biomechanical or related applied science discipline)
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited degree program.
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
  • Must be able to work full-time (40 hours per week).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
