About this Service Line

This position will support team members within inpatient Butterworth neuroscience service line. Butterworth hospital is designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center by The Joint Commission. The primary service lines include Neuro critical care, stroke care,  vascular neurology, epilepsy monitoring unit, general neurology, and neurosurgery.

Scope of Work

This position will provide nightshift leadership and support to three units including two non-ICU units and one ICU unit. Highly collaborative with another individual in a similar role. Assumes shift accountability for managing, supervising, and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing service/ unit of the hospital. Key responsibilities include assisting with the following: clinical support, unit based goal setting, program development, fiscal management, resource allocation, standards of care, policy and procedure development and interpretation, performance improvement, performance correction, and coaching and mentoring.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing Required.
  • Master's Degree in nursing Preferred.
  • The skills, knowledge, abilities typically gained through 1+ year of related clinical experience in area of specialty Required.
  • MI Registered Nurse license Required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required.
  • NIHSS NIH Stroke Certification 90 Days required
  • Corewell Health Nurse Supervisors are REQUIRED to obtain their Nursing Administration or Professional/Specialty Certification within 12 months of assuming the role, or within 12 months of achieving eligibility to sit for the exam if not eligible upon hire in to the role.
