Your New Role:
WBD is a dynamic organization and is transforming its Finance and operating posture through an investment in the SAP S4/HANA platform.  The role is to oversee the design, build and implementation of the SAP S4 platform, which will be one of the largest Finance systems transformation projects in the combined WBD history, and one of the larger SAP S4 projects in the media industry, globally.   Core process areas related to a growing direct-to-consumer business, Studios original productions, alongside existing Pay TV and FTA businesses will be evaluated in the context of this implementation to produce a transformative company-wide outcome in the way we execute, measure and optimize our business.

Your Role Accountabilities: (50%)

  • Oversee a multi-year implementation program of Finance systems transformation as Discovery pursues implementation of S4/HANA
  • Oversee a large ($200M+) system integration RFP, contract review and award.  Act as the senior engagement lead from WBD for the selected SI partner(s)
  • Lead all aspects of the implementation Program management through all phases of design, build, test, and deployment.
  • Chair all technical governance forums at the Steer Co level as required providing status on delivery vs plan
  • Manage all program resourcing, budgets, PMO and day to day program execution
  • Draw in technical architecture and data architecture experts to provide design authority on go forward architecture for the core SAP S4 solution and wider integrating systems.
  • Work with divisional C suite leads in the WBD business and technology organizations to ensure exec stakeholder management and on-going but in relating to large-scale M&A activities alongside the transformation program.
  • Support the Global CIO and SVP – Business Systems and Operations by ensuring technology program delivery components of the program are managed to schedule and budget sequencing in with the wider company’s transformation roadmap.

OPERATIONS/PROJECT MANAGEMENT (25%)

  • Assist Provide strategic guidance to the  project team, key stakeholders, and management to prioritize business requirements and develop and maintain detailed project plans using standard tools
  • Evaluate resource needs and partner with and work with management to secure project team members
  • Lead by influence and work in a matrix/cross functional (GPOs and BU Champions)
  • Establish and coordinate the project plan for migration of the project into production
  • Develop and define new and improved workflow and initiatives
  • Provide training and training materials for new processes
  • Work with key stakeholders to define and document communication plan
  • Complete key projects and assignments for executive management such as evaluating vendors, gathering/evaluating consultant proposals, or other responsibilities as requested

STRATEGY & ANALYTICS (25%)

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand team needs and dependencies to better align business processes
  • Develop and execute a methodology to evaluate, prioritize and monitor the success of the business processes
  • Accurately and clearly articulate strategic issues and provide relevant, logical options for solving them
  • Create comprehensive and meaningful strategy presentations for senior executives
  • Build frameworks and drive development through dynamic business intelligence tools and dashboards for use in ongoing business planning and goal measurement through KPIs
  • Develop comprehensive performance analysis of business processes and review ways of improvement
  • Actively participate in stakeholder meetings with the goal of understanding all major projects and initiatives planned

Qualifications & Experiences:

  • 20+ years Finance ERP or Planning Systems Experience
  • Proven experience of leading and managing large scale (150+) teams, onshore / offshore with extensive use of 3rd party suppliers, systems integrators and consultancies
  • Executive Presence at CFO, C Suite Level currently working into Group CIO/CTO.
  • Strong Finance Business Process understanding, SAP GL, AP, AR, Project Systems, Asset Management, OLTP and OLAP reporting
  • Strong SAP Product knowledge of the core S4 suite and associated SAP 'bolt on products' that typically are associated with large scale global finance systems and organizations with regional localization
  • Strong technical architecture credentials, of the core SAP product, middleware, BI, integrations with detailed understanding of boundary system integration to the core SAP suite.
  • Exceptional appreciation of master data, its role in the core SAP Suite, and its role in being propagated throughout the finance and non-finance systems ecosystem.
  • Experience of working in the Media Industry experience, with due consideration of ROI methodologies regarding media assets.
  • SAP S4 Implementation experience, with due consideration to Media Product Master (MPM) SAP BRIM, SAP SAC, SAP Ariba.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States (must be stated on US postings)

Not Required but preferred experience:

  • MBA
  • Knowledge of and passion for media, entertainment, and technology industries (including key players, growth trends and drivers, new media models, industry structure, etc.)
  • Familiarity with streaming and similar products/services
  • Experience working in a national or global company
  • Some visualization tool knowledge would be helpful (i.e. Tableau, Power BI)
  • Comfortable in working in highly iterative and somewhat unstructured environment
