Job Description Summary

Responsible for S&M Cost, Headcount Management and Project Execution responsible for driving financial discipline, headcount governance and operational rigor across Sales & Marketing (S&M) functions, including Sales, Marketing, and Product Management, while providing financial and analytical support to G&A. This role partners closely with functional leaders to manage SG&A spend and headcount, enable informed workforce and investment decisions, and lead cross-functional initiatives that improve efficiency, effectiveness and business outcomes within the GRIDSW business.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

S&M Cost & Headcount Management (Primary Focus)

  • Own and manage S&M budgets and headcount (Sales, Marketing, Product Management) ensuring alignment with business priorities and growth objectives.
  • Drive headcount planning, forecasting, and governance, including hiring plans, backfills, productivity assumptions, and workforce trade-offs.
  • Track and analyze S&M spend and headcount versus budget and plan, providing clear visibility into run-rate, risks, and opportunities.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Product leaders to balance cost discipline with commercial effectiveness and capability needs.
  • Lead S&M cost and headcount optimization initiatives, including span/layer reviews, role prioritization, and discretionary spend control.
  • Support operating plan, forecast, and budget cycles, including labor, contractor, and discretionary spend.

G&A Financial and Headcount Support

  • Provide financial and headcount planning support for G&A functions, ensuring consistent SG&A governance and reporting.
  • Coordinate with Finance and HR to support workforce planning, approvals, and compliance with internal policies.
  • Support enterprise-wide cost and headcount actions, including restructuring or productivity initiatives, as applicable.

Project Execution & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead and execute strategic and operational projects across S&M and G&A functions, from concept through implementation.
  • Define project scope, milestones, timelines, and success metrics aligned with GRIDSW strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Product, Finance, HR, IT) to ensure disciplined execution and timely delivery.
  • Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and change impacts.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Act as a trusted business partner to S&M and G&A leaders, providing data-driven insights on cost, headcount, and productivity.
  • Prepare and present clear financial, workforce, and project updates to senior leadership.
  • Support decision-making through scenario modeling, business cases, and impact analysis.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish and maintain governance mechanisms for SG&A cost and headcount management.
  • Improve cost, headcount, and productivity transparency through enhanced reporting and dashboards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning accuracy, forecasting, and execution discipline.
  • Support change management to ensure sustainable adoption of new processes and tools.

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in SG&A management, workforce planning, finance, operations, or project management.
  • Proven experience managing budgets and headcount within Sales, Marketing, and/or Product organizations.
  • Strong understanding of workforce planning concepts, labor cost drivers, and productivity metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or Master’s degree.
  • Experience in software, digital, energy, or industrial technology businesses.
  • Project management or Agile certification (PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, Scrum).
  • Experience supporting global, multi-region commercial organizations.
