The primary role of Engineering function is to apply advance skills and knowledge of manufacturing engineering discipline to develop and implement manufacturing processes, equipment, facilities and documents, in order to meet the current and future production volume, quality, OHS and cost requirements. Key deliverables include conducting prototyping and verification activities to determine the feasibility/suitability of a design. Assists in the development, execution, and testing of new and existing products.
 

The Process Engineer works closely with the Manufacturing Engineer to support the administration and coordination of production engineering projects, policies, processes, methods, and procedures. This role aims to enhance operational performance, minimize waste and delays, and drive cost reductions throughout the organization. This individual will be part of a cross-functional product/process transfer team, responsible for driving and completing transfer projects within budget and on schedule. The Process Technician establishes and maintains effective communication with employees, the manufacturing and quality departments, management, and other internal/external stakeholders.

Maintaining and Enhancing Existing Manufacturing Processes

  • Be an integral member of the Manufacturing Engineer Technician team to drive production down-time to the minimum.

  • Identify potential production issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement preventive measures.

  • Timely escalation of production issues and updates on production operational status

  • Assist or support Manufacturing Engineers to conduct the study via Engineering Studies or Validation and complete them on timely manner.

  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication of technical details and work closely to document it.

  • With the knowledge and hands-on experience acquired, facilitate knowledge transfer to the production team, providing additional coaching and guidance as needed.

  • Conduct time studies and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to establish process timings for transferred processes.

  • Identify potential improvement opportunities in manufacturing processes and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to systematically analyze and implement solutions.

  • Collect and analyze data from manufacturing operations and gather feedback from production personnel for continuous process improvement.

  • Execute, monitor, and sustain improvements in manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and quality.

  • Identify and report potential safety hazards on the production floor, promoting a culture of safety.

  

Acquired Skills

  • Bachelor Degree in any Engineering discipline.

  • Relevant industrial trainee or internship experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

  • Prior engineering experience in the medical device industry is preferred.

  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes and methodologies such as Lean, Kaizen, Kanban, and other advanced manufacturing tools and concepts.

  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Demonstrate effective time management and leadership skills

  • Good organizational, communication, and intercultural skills.

  • Analytical mindset with a strong focus on data and evidence-based decision-making.
