About Vantage:

Vantage is a cloud cost visibility and optimization platform, alternatively known as a FinOps platform. We help companies of all sizes manage their cloud infrastructure costs: everything from individual developers all the way up to multiple Fortune 500 customers. Our co-founders are industry veterans who have been former infrastructure engineers and product managers at DigitalOcean and AWS. The company is an efficient and hard working team of ~40 employees across the US with a New York City center of gravity.  As we transition to the growth phase of the business, it’s likely our team size will at least double by the end of 2025.

About The Role:

Our product is trusted by innovative teams across industries, and we’re seeking a Developer Advocate to engage with our technical community and showcase Vantage's value.

As the first Developer Advocate, you will be Vantage's voice in the engineering and FinOps communities. You’ll engage developers, speak at industry events, and build useful tools and content that help engineers make the most of our product.

What You Will Do:

• Technical Talks & Evangelism: Represent Vantage by giving technical talks and presentations at conferences, meetups, and webinars. Share your expertise in cloud cost management and infrastructure optimization.

• Content Creation: Write technical blog posts, how-to guides, and use case guides that explain how Vantage can solve real-world problems. You'll showcase how Vantage helps teams optimize their AWS usage and drive best practices for cloud infrastructure.

• Community Engagement: Foster relationships with the engineering and FinOps communities through online platforms, social media, and developer forums. Be a proactive advocate for Vantage and its users.

• Tool Development & Open Source Projects: Own and iterate on the EC2Instances tool, a critical part of our web presence. Propose and develop new open source tools that provide value to FinOps and engineering teams and extend our reach in the community.

• Content Creation Beyond Blogs: Develop engaging video content, tutorials, and other media that help engineers understand and leverage Vantage effectively. Experiment with formats to find new ways of reaching and educating our audience.

What We're Looking For:

• Passionate about technology and love sharing your knowledge with others.

• Experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP, as well as other popular infrastructure providers (e.g., Datadog, MongoDB, GitHub), are familiar with FinOps, and understand the challenges engineers face in managing cloud infrastructure costs.

• Comfortable writing technical content, speaking publicly, and engaging with online communities.

• A developer’s mindset and love building things that solve real problems, whether code or content.

• Strong experience in Python and additional experience in other languages.

• A kind person

Pay & Benefits

The estimated annual US base salary range for this role is $125,000 - $170,000. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and education stipends.
