Job Description:

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for the supervision of day-to-day inventory control activities. Oversees and ensures compliance with the inventory processes, ensures accurate and timely reporting, inventory record maintenance, and may direct salaried Associates as well as hourly. Responsibilities include managing high levels of case inventory, inventory dollar value, and business unit complexity. Partners cross-functionally to ensure inventory integrity and process improvement.

Here’s what you’ll do: 

  • Develop and/or maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional departments as necessary to coordinate inventory management activities and to ensure prompt and timely resolution of any issues. 
  • Schedule and assign work to inventory control associates to complete workload in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining accuracy, and safe work environment; plan and schedule activities to control costs on labor and supplies.  
  • Review inventory gain/loss line and salvage line and research items of high cost/quantity variance.
  • Participate in the review of warehouse layout, item slotting for effectiveness, execution and operational efficiency. 
  • Oversee the recording and product movement for salvage sales and return to vendor transactions and ensure product recoup efforts are completed in an accurate and timely manner. 
  • Ensure compliance with internal, external and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) audit requirements.
  • Oversee selection audit activity and reporting.
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment. Report and/or address any issues or work-related injuries. 
  • Coordinate and lead pre-shift meetings and ensure timely communication with associates on various topics.
  • Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and achieving department goals.
  • Manage high levels of case inventory, inventory dollar value, and business unit complexity
  • Understand financial impact of inventory results for each business unit
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Here’s what you’ll need: 

  • Associate's Degree (Required) (or Bachelor’s degree) in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related area, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 
  • Five years combined warehouse and inventory control experience. 
  • Two years of supervisory experience. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Strong organization, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.  
  • Good leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment.  
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, conflict management and business acumen skills.  
  • Ability to work across business units. In-depth knowledge of inventory control principles and practices; knowledge of warehouse management systems.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Experience using warehouse systems and database management tools (i.e., COGNOS, WMS/EXE, billing system, etc.) helpful.  
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and ability to travel up to 15% as necessary.

While performing the duties of this position, employees are subject to a warehouse environment and may frequently be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity based on assignment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hours shift as assigned. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
