The Lead Technologist as clinical expert in their credentialed modality in an assigned territory.  Daily patient interaction through scan administration.  Ensures effective communication with the customer including radiologists as needed.  Assists leadership with schedules and timecard approval.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs clinical scans and responsible for patient safety.

  • Creates and distributes Team Member schedules. Approves timecards (typically for up to 40 Team Member timecards). Conducts and completes Team Member performance reviews, as well as new hire and annual clinical assessments.

  • Assists with day to day unit operations. Supports unit audits, ACR accreditation activities, and Joint Commission preparedness. Works with team and customer on protocol development and review.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree or Certificate from College or Technical School in a Radiology or Nuclear Medicine Program

  • CPR Certification

  • State licensed in the modalities supported, if applicable

  • Valid state drivers license, as applicable

  • Ability to work at several locations.

  • Strong customer service skills. 

  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills. 

  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.

  • 25% Travel may be required.

Technologists providing MRI services

  • ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT as allowable by contract in lieu of ARRT.

  • Scanning experience in MRI

Technologists providing CT services

  • ARRT(CT)

  • Scanning experience in CT

Technologist providing PET services

  • ARRT(N) or NMTCB

  • Scanning experience in PET

Technologists providing PET and Diagnostic CT services

  •  ARRT(N) or NMTCB and ARRT(CT)

  • Scanning experience in PET and Diagnostic CT

Technologists providing Mammography service

  • Scanning experience in Mammography

  • ARRT(M)

Technologists providing Ultrasound services

  • ARDMS certification or ARRT(S)

  • Scanning experience in ultrasound

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

  • 3 years of scanning experience.

Physical Requirements:

The employee may be exposed to a strong magnetic field , outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit, blood/body fluids and infectious disease, and radioactive isotopes, and ionizing radiation.   

  • More than 50% of the time:

    • Sit, stand, walk.

    • Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs.

    • See, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients.

  • Less than 50% of the time:

    • Stoop, kneel or crawl.

    • Climb and balance.

    • Carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
