Please Note: This is a Utah-based hybrid position which will require some regular in-office days each week.
Essential Job Duties:
As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will be a crucial part of our team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure. You will lead initiatives to optimize performance, scalability, and reliability while ensuring the security and compliance of our cloud environment. This role demands strong technical expertise in cloud technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.You will be expected to design and manage Kubernetes clusters, ensuring efficient deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
What You'll Do:
- Implementation and Deployment: Lead the implementation and deployment of cloud infrastructure components, including compute, storage, networking, and security services. Automate deployment processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Performance Optimization: Proactively identify opportunities to optimize the performance and efficiency of our cloud infrastructure. Implement best practices for resource utilization, load balancing, and fault tolerance.
- Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures to protect our cloud infrastructure and data assets. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Establish logging, monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address issues within the cloud environment. Troubleshoot infrastructure-related problems and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
- Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, DevOps engineers, and system administrators, to support their cloud infrastructure needs. Share expertise and best practices to enhance the overall team's capabilities.
- Documentation and Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud infrastructure configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Ensure knowledge transfer and promote a culture of documentation within the team.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies, trends, and best practices. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the performance, reliability, and security of our cloud infrastructure.
What You'll Need to Get The Job Done:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a focus on AWS.
- Strong proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Expertise with containerization and orchestration particularly in the Deployment, Administration and Management of Kubernetes.
- Deep understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing.
- Familiarity with security best practices and tools for cloud environments, such as IAM, WAF, and encryption mechanisms.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, Ruby, etc for automation and tooling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a distributed environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) are a plus.
