Join our team! We are seeking a Senior VMware Core Automation Engineer to design, implement, and manage automated solutions within our VMware environment, enhancing efficiency and performance.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible to:

  • Design and deploy Automation Infra for VMware enterprise environments. 
  • Develop and manage automation scripts and workflows for VMware environments (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi) using tools like PowerCLI, Ansible, Python and other automation frameworks. 
  • Knowledge on vRA, vRO, and vROps. 
  • Working knowledge on VMware API and SNOW API environments. 
  • Knowledge on GitHub repository 
  • Understanding the product architecture, existing automation frameworks/tools, and release process 
  • Automation execution and triage results 
  • Enhance the automation framework, Automation of functional tests 
  • Collaboratively work across other functional teams, Architects, Product Managers, and Business stakeholders to identify the technical and functional needs of systems. 
  • Should be willing to provide 24x7 support and manage VMware infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance. 
  • Vulnerability Management, Patch Management. 
  • Troubleshooting complex issues. 
  • Experience leading recovery from major incidents 
  • Logical and methodical approach to problem solving. 
  • Participate in root cause analysis for incidents as appropriate. 
  • Automate backup and disaster recovery processes. 
  • Provide architectural solutions to develop Self-Service Portals and infrastructure automation. 
  • Identify and implement automation orchestration opportunities across the organization. 
  • Integrate ServiceNow with VMware infrastructure to streamline IT service management and operations. 
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of automation scripts, workflows, and procedures. 

About You

You’re a fit for the role if your background includes:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field. 
  • 6+ years of VMware experience, with a focus on automation. 
  • Proficient in scripting and automation tools (Python, PowerCLI, Ansible, etc.). 
  • Proficient in using GitHub, and API (VMware and ServiceNow) 
  • Strong understanding of VMware technologies and virtual infrastructure. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. 
  • VMware certification (e.g., VCP) is preferred. 
  • Knowledge of Pure Storage will be an added advantage. 
  • Work closely with internal customers to understand needs, technology landscape, and changing requirements.  
  • Develop a solid understanding of Thomson Reuters product lines and supported technologies.  
  • Understand internal business processes and how they affect the Corporation.  
  • Understand strategic vision at the project level. Help form and implement project strategy.  
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
