What You’ll do on a Typical Day:

  • Lead an engineering team to build, operate, streamline, and maintain our Technology solutions to meet our suppliers' and customers' evolving needs.

  • Take a whole systems approach to analyze use cases, design, implement, and maintain integrated solutions applying standard engineering methodologies
  • Successfully conduct day-to-day activities and solve complex issues in your engineering domain
  • Research and recommend frameworks and architectural/code design patterns
  • Creatively test and maintain software applications and related systems using a variety of software development tools
  • Lead and participate in design and code reviews
  • Partner with Product to refine business requirements
  • Collaborate with peers across regions, within and outside your direct organization
  • Seek and share domain and industry knowledge between multi-functional teams to improve engineering practices
  • Possess knowledge of features and facilities for integration, and communication among applications, databases, and platforms to connect different components and form a fully functional solution to a business problem
  • Advocate for operational excellence and project quality via system resilience and scalability, testing, monitoring, alerting
  • Report on the status of high-visibility projects to leadership
  • Enthusiastically seek opportunities to improve our customers' experiences
  • Guide other engineers in the design of software that is easily maintainable, testable, and observable
  • Demonstrate leadership in mentoring, establishing standards in documentation and clean code, and setting a professional example to the team.

What We’re looking for:

  • Have a bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of relevant work experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work well within and across software engineering teams, as well as other functions of the company.

  • Excellent skills at encouraging working relationships and driving teamwork.

  • Experience in working with leadership across multiple product and engineering areas.

  • Draw on experience to lead technical designs and implementation of highly scalable and adaptable systems.

  • Expertise of professional software engineering practices and standard methodologies for the full software development process, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

  • Technical skills: Java based technologies, micro-services architecture, cloud-native and distributed computing.

  • Exposure to delivering products using cloud infrastructure.

Technologies we currently use include Java, Amazon Web Services, Spring Boot, Kotlin, React.js, REST, GraphQL, Cucumber, Selenium, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins, Kibana, Datadog.
