Grade 2 Physiotherapist – Orthopaedics & Emergency Department

About the Role

An opportunity currently exists for an experienced Physiotherapist to join the Physiotherapy Weekend team. You will be involved in assessing and treating orthopaedic, plastics and emergency secondary contact patients on the weekends and public holidays. Applicants will need to have excellent orthopaedic and acute ward skills.

This position is a 4 - 6 hour shift on weekends and public holidays. It is an expectation that staff work a shift every 6 weeks.

Duties include

  • Provide appropriate clinical management for all orthopaedic, plastics and emergency secondary contact patients.

  • Assessment, planning and treatment including education for all orthopaedic inpatients.

  • Communicate assessment and treatment outcomes to nursing, medical and other Allied Health staff via documentation and handovers.

  • Advising on the care of orthopaedic inpatients in outlying wards when requested.


​Classifications for this position will range from VB1 – VB4 ($44.77 - $51.46 per hour, plus casual loading).

Your contribution

  • Degree in Physiotherapy

  • Current AHPRA Registration

  • Relevant post graduate qualifications (completed or working towards completion)

  • Extensive experience in managing a wide range of physiotherapy conditions, in particular soft tissue injuries, spinal and peripheral joint injuries.

  • High level of clinical reasoning and clinical knowledge
